1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember your preferences and keep you signed in.
2. Cookies we use
We use only strictly necessary cookies. These are essential for the app to function and cannot be switched off.

4. Analytics
We use PostHog(hosted in the EU) to understand which pages help people find volunteering and where people get stuck. We ask before it does anything: on your first visit a small, dismissible prompt appears, and nothing is stored on your device or sent to PostHog until you choose “OK”.
If you accept, we also record how you move through the pages (a “session recording”) with all text hidden — names, messages and form values are masked, and recordings are never made on pages that show DBS information or private messages. Recordings are kept for 90 days; other analytics events for 12 months. We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or advertising cookies of any kind.
You can turn analytics off at any time from the Privacy section of your profile settings. Declining, or turning it off later, stops any further collection.
5. Consent
Under the UK Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR), the cookies and storage that keep you signed in and remember your settings are strictly necessary and need no consent. The analytics storage described above is not strictly necessary, so we ask for your consent first via the prompt — that is the only thing the prompt is for.
